My name is Saheli Khatri and am 10 years old. On September 20th, 2016, I went missing. My missing case was reported by my brother Vahin Khatri and by my father Vaidat Khatri to the DMWSC. This was done on September 22nd, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. With the information provided, workers of the DMWSC then started searching for me. By the 26th of September, several visits had taken place to my home. They discovered that Vahin had kept me to remain more with his wife at home. They also spoke to my neighbours, from whom they discovered that I did not attend school and that I had in fact run away because I was offered a job in of domestic work. At the time, I wanted to work in order to gain more money. I used to leave my house from time to time to sell guava on Sevoke street.
I came to know that on September 26th, Sushil Barla, known as Mary Ward’s legal supervisor, did network activity with the CINI Child Line in Siliguri. This made the search for me easier. Once he submitted a pryer latter to the child line coordinator, a greater search was carried. From here, the DMWSC found me and brought me back home.
