Darjeeling Mary Ward Social Centre (DMWSC) has been organizing the One Billion Rising ( OBR) program in Siliguri since 2014. OBR is a global campaign to stand in solidarity against the exploitation and violence of women. This year DMWSC in Collaboration with Anti- Trafficking Network and Mahila Unnayan Samiti organized OBR at Helakadam Junior Basic School, Hetmuri on 13th February 2022 for marginalized women tea plantation workers and girls living in the Darjeeling district.
In this year’s campaign, the chief guest was Debaprasad Nath, District Judge, Darjeeling, and Sujoy Kr. Sarkar Secretary DLSA gave awareness on legal rights to women.
