Project: Ethical Enterprise Initiative for Youths, Panighatta Sewing.
Promoting gender equality is the critical part of violence prevention in tea gardens. DMWSC through the public awareness campaign and other interventions is trying to alter attitude towards gender norms in the closed tea garden of Panighatta. On 24th February 2022, an awareness campaign was organized at Loreto School Panighatta for youths living in the defunct tea garden. The programme was facilitated by the Pema D Lama, she discussed various aspects of violence against women, methods of intervention, and existing laws to protect women in distress. The interactive session was attended by 15 youths which includes the trainees from the sewing class.
