Project: Safe Migration

The plantation sector, like many other sectors, is not exempted from gender-based violence at home and the workplace. Women in tea gardens experienced either physical or sexual violence. The act is devastating in nature not only for the victim and her family but entails high social and economic costs. In order to prevent and respond to the issue related to women’s rights in tea gardens, DMWSC conducted a legal awareness program at Moonee tea garden on 15/3/2022.
